Origin on the brink of Yolla finish

Australia’s Origin Energy Limited, as Operator of the BassGas Joint Venture, today announced that the Yolla-6 production well located offshore Australia had reached total depth of 3,653m MDRT (Measured Depth Below Rotary Table).

The well spudded at 21:30 hours AEDT on March 14, 2015.

The well was drilled using the West Telesto jack-up rig, which will move back to complete drilling of the Yolla-5 well.

The Yolla-5 and Yolla-6 wells are being drilled as part of Stage 2 of the BassGas Mid Life Enhancement (MLE) project. According to Origin, Yolla-6 will be cased and completed before being commissioned for production via the BassGas production facility at Lang Lang, Victoria.

The wells are being drilled from the Yolla Platform which is located in Bass Strait, approximately 140km offshore from Kilcunda, Victoria.

The BassGas Joint Venture partners are: Origin Energy Resources Limited (Operator) 42.50%; AWE Limited (via subsidiaries) 35%; Toyota Tsusho Gas E&P Trefoil Limited 11.25%; Prize Petroleum International Pte. Ltd 11.25%.
