Pakistan to receive LNG shipment

Energy-hungry Pakistan, which became an LNG importing nation in March 2015, is to receive a cargo of chilled gas from Australia, shipping data reveals.

Teekay LNG’s 155,000 cbm Tangguh Sago is currently on its way to Pakistan, carrying a cargo from the Santos GLNG facility located on Curtis Island off Gladstone, the data shows.

The vessel is expected to arrive around February 26 at Excelerate Energy’s 150,900 cbm FSRU Exquisite, being used as an import terminal in Port Qasim.

Engro Elengy is operating Pakistan’s first LNG import terminal with a capacity for regasification of up to 4.5 million tons of LNG per year.

The facility received 17 cargoes or one million tons of LNG by the end of December.
