PDM Neptec Announces Success with its Presentation at Ocean Business 2011 (UK)

PDM Neptec exhibited at Ocean Business last week, and received an unprecedented number of enquiries, thanks mainly to the launch of 2 brand new products: the Compact Quickcure Moulding System, and Omicron miniature fibre optic connectors.

A great deal of interest was shown by visitors in the Compact Quickcure Moulding System (QMS), a single slot, portable hotplate system for quick and easy cable splicing and repairs offsite which heats up to required moulding temperature in only 10 minutes, and allows easy de-moulding after a similar amount of time.

In addition, the low loss Omicron Subsea Fibre Optic Connector proved a source of interest to a wide range of companies, from providers of technical solutions to ROV operators and manufacturers, to those selling underwater cameras and lights, and high resolution broadband systems. Rated for use to 5000 metres (mated), and designed for compact installations requiring minimum connector size, Omicron incorporates proven ferrule carrier and alignment technology, producing insertion loss performance of <0.5 decibels at typical operational wavelengths with single or multi-mode fibres.

PDM is dedicated to the development of quality, cost effective connectivity solutions”, said Gary Kelly, UK Sales Manager. “We were therefore delighted to receive positive feedback on the competitive pricing of these new products, and such a high level of enquiries.”

PDM has been at the forefront of harsh environment engineering for over 25 years, and is the exclusive distributor of Teledyne Impulse underwater connectors and cable assemblies in the UK and Europe. The company also supplies high quality bespoke engineered connectivity solutions to ISO 9001:2008 quality standards.
