Pemex evacuates 97 workers after fire on platform

Mexican oil company Pemex has evacuated workers from its Zaap E production platform in the Gulf of Mexico due to a fire outbreak on Friday.

According to Pemex, the fire, now extinguished, occurred in the engine room of the platform, located in the Campeche Bay, offshore Mexico.

Using three vessels, Pemex evacuated 97 workers that were onboard the platform at the time of the incident.

Production at the platform has been shut down, and no injuries have been reported. There are no oil and gas spills or leaks reported either.
