Petrofac appoints new Americas business head

Oilfield services provider Petrofac has appointed a new president of its Americas business.

John Glithero, president of Petrofac's Americas business

Petrofac said on Tuesday that it appointed John Glithero to the role.

According to Bloomberg, Glithero previously worked as a co-president of Americas Business at Production Services Network (UK) and Wood Group PSN Queensland since December 18, 2013.

He joined Wood Group from Baker Energy in 2002 as an executive vice-president for U.S. offshore operations and maintenance business. Glithero was one of the key people involved in Wood Group’s 2009 acquisition of Baker Energy.

Petrofac added that, along with its Houston team, Glithero would build on the development of the company’s joint venture, DanosPetrofac, to further establish its outsourced asset support offering in the region.

DanosPetrofac was created in 2018 after Petrofac’s EPS business signed a joint venture agreement with Danos, a US-based integrated oilfield services provider.

Offshore Energy Today reported back in October 2017 that the two companies had signed a memorandum of understanding to progress discussions towards the formation a JV agreement.

The companies stated at the time that the JV would allow the pursuit of joint opportunities to deliver services across the oil and gas asset life cycle, with a focus on supporting operations and asset management solutions in the Gulf of Mexico and U.S. shale plays.
