Using PGS’ GeoStreamer® technology, the survey will deliver superior resolution and imaging quality as a result of broader bandwidth and deeper penetration. Acquisition is planned to start in late 2014 on this program which will cover some 8,000 sq km of high quality true broadband GeoStreamer data.

The Ceduna sub-basin has become a hot spot for exploration activity following recent gazettal round awards to major E&P companies and represents a massive and under-explored frontier area.

The Springboard survey area presently lacks any 3D seismic data. It is widely expected that drilling will commence in this deep water area in 2016/2017 and, as such, all companies will be seeking to improve confidence in their leads and prospects with new high quality 3D seismic data as soon as possible.

The survey will be acquired using PGS’ Ramform Sovereign and has strong industry support.
