Poland has received its twentieth cargo of liquefied natural gas at the country’s first LNG import terminal in Świnoujście.

The cargo was delivered during the weekend onboard the 140,000-cbm LNG tanker Arctic Discoverer, Gaz-System, the operator of the Lech Kaczyński LNG terminal said in a statement.

As previously reported by LNG World News, the spot cargo was bought by Poland’s state-owned gas company PGNiG from Norway’s Statoil.

Delivery from Norway is the second spot supply from this country that landed at the Polish LNG terminal. Poland also received two spot deliveries from the USA and Qatar.

In total, Poland received about 4 million cubic meters of LNG or 20 cargoes since December 2015. This includes two commissioning cargoes that landed at the Świnoujście terminal prior to its official opening in June last year, according to Gaz-System.

Polish LNG terminal in Świnoujście is the country’s flagship project to diversify gas supplies and reduce dependence on pipeline imports from Russia.

PGNiG is in charge for all the LNG supplies coming to the import terminal operated by Gaz-System’s unit Polskie LNG.
