Polarcus scores more work in South America

Marine seismic data acquisition specialist Polarcus has secured additional work offshore South America.

The company on Wednesday said it was expanding its South American campaign with an additional award from an unnamed client for a 3D marine seismic project in South America utilizing Polarcus’ RightBAND(TM) technique for broadband data acquisition. The project is expected begin in the third quarter of 2016 and will run for around three months.

The news comes only hours after Polarcus announced a memorandum of understanding  from an undisclosed client for a 3D marine seismic project, also in South America. This project will start in the first quarter 2016, and will run for approximately four months.

Polarcus said that this most recent award means that the company will have two vessels operating in South America during 2016, acquiring five projects over approximately 14 vessel
months, including the previously announced Brazilian projects. The company did not disclose financial details of these new South America contracts, nor the names of the vessels involved.

To remind, Polarcus on Tuesday said it had signed a Letter of Intent for a 3D marine seismic contract, adding that the project would start soon. More on that here: https://bit.ly/1NQEt6F
