Premier Hytemp expands management team

Premier Hytemp, a manufacturer of engineered alloy components for the oil and gas industry, has announced the appointments of two experienced industry professionals to its senior management team.

Campbell MacPherson, who has spent almost 20 years working in high precision oil and gas engineering, will join the Edinburgh headquartered firm in April as its chief executive officer while Gavin Rippe will take up the post of chief commercial officer in early March, bringing 15 years of experience of sales and marketing in the subsea oil and gas sector to the role.

MacPherson is currently general director at Schoeller Bleckmann Oilfield Equipment in Vietnam, where he established a greenfield manufacturing facility in 2009 to serve the global directional drilling market. He was previously managing director of Schoeller Bleckmann Darron Ltd in Aberdeen, from where he also established and ran the firm’s Russian subsidiary.

MacPherson gained a first class BEng honours degree in naval architecture and offshore engineering from the University of Strathclyde before joining the oil and gas industry in 1996. He spent the initial years of his career with Schlumberger, BI Group and Forth Tool & Valve Ltd. His appointment brings extensive engineering and industry experience to Premier Hytemp as it pursues plans to increase the scale and scope of its work with the global energy industry, onshore and offshore.

Gavin Rippe joins Premier Hytemp from JDR Cable Systems, where he was sales director responsible for global oil and gas subsea accounts across Europe, the Middle East and Asia Pacific. He has a BEng first class honours degree from the University of Portsmouth and worked with a small automotive company before joining Hydratight in 1999. He moved to JDR Cable Systems in 2002 and has since achieved a ten-fold increase in the firm’s revenues.

Premier Hytemp describes itself as a global leader in the manufacture and supply chain management of precision engineered alloy components used in safety critical applications in the energy sector, including wellheads, valves and downhole tools. It provides a comprehensive package of solutions to customers, from raw materials, bar and forged products through to finish machined products, complete assemblies and testing.
