Primo Marine Nets Viking Link Work

Primo Marine, the subsea cabling and pipeline engineering specialist, has been awarded a contract to provide a cable burial and risk assessment (CBRA) and installation & burial expertise, for the Viking Link. 

Viking Link is a proposal to build a high voltage direct current (HVDC) interconnector between Denmark and Great Britain using subsea and underground cables, which also crosses German and Dutch territories.

The interconnector, approximately 635km’s in length, will be installed between Lincolnshire on the east coast of Great Britain and the west coast of Denmark, with a planned landfall at Blaabjerg Strand.

The project is being jointly developed by Energinet.dk, the Danish transmission system operator, and National Grid through its subsidiaries.

The company did not disclose the value of the contract.
