Programmed secures Prelude FLNG contract with Technip

Australia’s Programmed has been awarded a contract by Technip Oceania for the provision of support services on the Prelude FLNG project.

The company specialzing in providing staffing, maintenance, and facility management services, will provide manning and logistical support to Technip during hook‐up and commissioning of the Prelude FLNG project.

Chris Sutherland, Managing Director of Programmed, said: “We are delighted to support Technip on the Prelude FLNG project. I am confident that our Programmed Marine team will again deliver a safe and exceptional service to Technip and the Prelude FLNG project as a whole.”

The company said preparatory work is under way with the offshore work expected to begin in 2017.

The Prelude FLNG project is the world’s largest FLNG project which is expected to produce 3,6 million tons of LNG annually by using natural gas from the offshore Prelude and Concerto Gas Fields located approximately 475 km North-Northeast of Broome, Western Australia.

After the completion of all work at the shipyard in South Korea, the FLNG facility will be towed to its operating location offshore Western Australia.

To remind, Shell hired JGC last week for construction management and completion work services on the FLNG unit which is being built in South Korea by Samsung Heavy Industry and Shell Australia.
