Australian staffing, maintenance and facility management services provider Programmed, signed a deal with Technip to support the latter’s job on Shell’s Prelude FLNG project.

Under the agreement Programmed will provide manning and logistical support services in support of the hook‐up and commissioning phase of the Prelude FLNG project.

Programmed will begin preparatory works immediately with the work offshore expected to commence in 2017.

Technip secured a new contract with Shell’s Australian unit to provide multi-disciplinary engineering and design services in support of the Prelude FLNG project, enabling the delivery of brownfield engineering scope as the project moves into operations.

Once completed, the Prelude FLNG unit, currently under construction at SHI’s Geoje shipyard, will be towed to the Prelude gas field offshore Western Australia.

The FLNG is set to stay moored at the field for 25 years, and is expected to produce 3.6 mtpa of LNG, 1.3 mtpa of condensate and 0.4 mtpa of LPG for export.
