Prosafe has won the contract acting as commercial manager for the Axis Offshore-owned Safe Swift accommodation unit.

Prosafe said on Thursday that the Safe Swift will mobilize to conduct gangway connected accommodation duties for a period of five months, starting in May 2019.

Safe Swift is a monohull accommodation vessel with beds for 291 persons and is capable of operating worldwide in moderately harsh environments.

In December 2016, Prosafe acquired 25% of the shares in Dan Swift Singapore Pte. Ltd and formalized an agreement for the commercial and operational management of the Safe Swift.

Safe Swift was built in Frederikshavn Shipyard, Denmark in 1985 and underwent a major upgrade at Blohm & Voss, Germany in 2009. The upgrades included installation of new accommodation, gangways and additional power generation and thrusters. The vessel is equipped with two Marine Aluminium electro hydraulic gangways providing flexibility of gangway connection.

The vessel has already worked in the Mediterranean Sea. Namely, in November 2017, Safe Swift was hired to support the TechnipFMC managed Bahr Essalam, Phase II development in the Central Mediterranean Sea.

In June 2018, the accommodation vessel won another contract for support activities in the Central Mediterranean Sea for a period of up to two months.
