Prosafe Secures Safe Scandinavia Contract Extension with BP (Norway)

Prosafe and BP Norge AS have agreed to further extend the Safe Scandinavia’s operations at Valhall field in the Norwegian part of the North Sea until 7th February 2013.

The value of the seven-day contract extension is USD 2.1 million.

Safe Scandinavia was built in 1984 at the Aker Verdal yard to an Aker H-3.2E design. The rig has a twelve (12) point, all chain mooring system allowing station keeping in the harshest of environments.

With a maximum of 583 beds, two workshops and 60 workstations, together with very high levels of accommodation, good cranage and a high payload capacity, the Safe Scandinavia is an offshore support vessel suitable for construction, commissioning and remedial work.
