PSA Inspects Statoil's Operations at Oseberg Field Centre

During the period 26 – 30 Nov. 2012, the Petroleum Safety Authority Norway (PSA) carried out an audit of Statoil Petroleum AS’ (Statoil’s) control and management of material handling, technical condition of lifting equipment and lifting operations, as well as established improvement measures within crane and lifting operations at Oseberg field centre.

The objective of the audit activity was to assess whether Statoil’s control and management of material handling and the technical condition of lifting equipment and lifting operations complied with relevant regulatory requirements.

In addition, the objective included verifying whether Statoil’s established improvement measures in the lifting appliances and lifting operations area had been implemented in the drilling area.

Nonconformities were identified in connection with:

– Nonconformity processing

– Technical condition of offshore cranes

– Lifting equipment

– Expertise

– Loading deck for galley

– Safe Rig project

– Drilling module

No improvement items were identified.
