PSA Inspects Telecommunications Systems on Ekofisk (Norway)

The Petroleum Safety Authority Norway (PSA) carried out an audit of the Ekofisk 2/4H, 2/4-Q, 2/4-C and 2/4-FTP facilities during the period 19-21 November.

In relation to radio and telecommunications systems, the objective of the audit was to verify the technical condition, maintenance, expertise and use of radio and telecommunications systems on the facility.

The goal of the preparedness audit was to verify the facility’s preparedness organisation, rescue equipment and systems that safeguard preparedness functions.

No nonconformities were identified.

Improvement items were identified in connection with:

– Labelling of equipment in the lifeboat

– Battery bank for the PA system

– Handheld VHF

– VHF channels

– Maritime VHF

– Labelling and signposting

– Lighting of lifeboats

– Instructions for coxswains

– Fire-fighting equipment

– Life jackets
