PSO gets 12 LNG supply bids

PSO gets 12 LNG supply bids

After launching a tender two moths ago, Pakistan State Oil, received 12 international bids for the supply of 400,000 Mcf/day of LNG.

Platts reports that some of the interested companies are Shell, BP and Mitsubishi Corp.

A ministry official said that the bid levels given in the PSO tender by the 12 companies would be considered for the price discussions and in the setting of a benchmark price to import LNG.

The country facing a gas shortage does not currently import LNG, but Pakistan’s first planned LNG terminal with the initial 200,000 Mcf/day of LNG to be received for re-gasification, is being built by Elengy Terminal Pakistan Limited at Port Qasim. The completion of the project is scheduled for March next year.
