PSV of Ulstein Design Delivered to Seatankers in China

The first of totally twelve platform supply vessels of ULSTEIN’s PX105 design, ‘Sea Falcon’, was delivered on 5 February 2013 from Zhejiang to Seatankers Group.

ULSTEIN delivers twelve design and equipment packages to Sinopacific’s Zhejiang yard in Ningbo, China, where all the vessels for Seatankers Group will be constructed. The packages include design, engineering and equipment supplied by ULSTEIN. The ships comply with the DNV requirements of the Clean or Clean Design standards.

“We have previously cooperated with Sinopacific on several occasions, and ‘Sea Falcon’ is number 11 of ULSTEIN designed vessel delivered from Zhejiang in the past few years. The yard has acquired much experience in constructing vessels of our designs. In this project, we have contributed with a local support team at Zhejiang that has been involved in the commissioning and completion of the vessel. Also, a design team at our office in Norway has been supervising the project,” says Sales & Marketing Manager in Ulstein Design & Solutions, Lars Ståle Skoge.

ZJ2013, ‘Sea Falcon’, measures 88.9 metres long and 19 metres in the beam. She has a dead weight of 4,500 tonnes. She is equipped with a diesel-electric propulsion system and a comprehensive electrical package delivered by Ulstein Power & Control. She is fitted with Azipull 100 propellers, and can reach speeds of 15.5 knots. The loading deck area is approximately 1,000 m2.

The oil company Apache has chartered ‘Sea Falcon’ for a period of five years plus option. Apache has already two vessels on chart that were designed and built by ULSTEIN, the Blue Fighter and Blue Prosper.
