Qatar: Nakilat to Inaugurate New Shipyard on November 23


Qatari shipping company Nakilat, the largest LNG ship owner in the world, will inaugurate its new Shipyard on November 23, the company’s press service said.

The event will be held at Ras Laffan Industrial City in Qatar. The unveiling of this highly anticipated shipyard, developed in partnership betwen Nakilat,  Keppel O&M and Damen Shipyards Group will be led by H.H. Sheikh Hamad Bin Khalifa Al Thani.

Nakilat owns 54 LNG carriers. These vessels transport LNG produced from Qatar’s North Field, the world’s largest non-associated gas field with approximately 15% of the world’s total proven reserves to global markets. The fleet consists of 9 Conventional vessels (145-154m³), 31 Q-Flex vessels (210-216m³) and 14 Q-Max vessels (263-266m³).
