Qatar ships LNG cargo to Portugal's Sines terminal

REN’s Sines LNG terminal located on Portugal’s Atlantic coast is scheduled to receive a cargo of the chilled fuel from the world’s largest LNG exporter, Qatar.

According to the shipping data by the port of Sines., the 210,174-cbm Murwab LNG carrier departed Ras Laffan and is scheduled to dock at the Sines terminal on November 1.

The vessel, jointly owned by Nakilat and Mitsui O.S.K. Lines was built in 2008 by Daewoo Shipbuilding & Marine Engineering (DSME) of South Korea.

Portugal’s only LNG import facility in Sines port has a nominal sendout capacity of 600,000 cubic meters per hour (5.26 bcm per year), with a peak capacity of 900,000 cubic meters per hour.

Portugal mostly imports LNG from Nigeria, Algeria and Qatar.
