Rem Offshore orders Arctic-ready vessel from Vard

Rem Offshore ASA has entered into a newbuilding contract for one Offshore Construction Vessel at Vard.

The vessel is of the Vard 2 06 design with overall length of 100 meters and a beam of 25 meters. The vessel will be equipped with a 150 ton offshore crane, ROV hangar, prepared for A-frame and accommodation for 90 people.

The vessel will be winterized with also ICE 1B hull and so specially designed for the climate in the arctic areas. The vessel will be used for project work including anchor handling as a part of the vessels capacity. The bollard pull will be approximately 400 ton.

Delivery from yard will be in the first quarter of 2016. The building cost for the vessel is approximately NOK 800 million ($133.3).
