Rem PSVs carry on with Exxon

Norwegian offshore vessels supplier Rem Offshore ASA has said it has won two charter extensions with ExxonMobil.

In a filing on Oslo Bors, Rem Offshore has revealed that ExxonMobil’s Norwegian subsidiary will extend the charters for the platform supply vessels Rem Supporter and Rem Server until August 1, 2016 and June 1, 2016, respectively.

While not disclosing the financial details of the deal, REM, which owns 20 vessels, said that the contracts were made at market terms.

It is unclear if this deal with ExxonMobil Exploration and Production Norge AS can be perceived as an extension, as both Rem Supporter and Rem Server had been contracted by Karmoreneftegaz before their contracts were terminated in December 2014.

Karmoreneftegaz is a joint company established by Russian oil giant Rosneft and U.S. ExxonMobil, to run the Arctic drilling operations in Russia. The contracts were terminated as ExxonMobil had to pull out from Russia due to sanctions.
