Report: Bontang LNG in search for cargo buyers

The Bontang LNG plant in Indonesia reportedly expects less than five uncommitted cargoes of the chilled gas next year.

Badak NGL President Director Salis Aprilian said the company will continue to seek buyers for the cargoes, according to a report by Reuters.

He added that said some of the uncommitted cargoes would likely be sold on midterm contracts and some on the spot market.

Bontang is expected to produce 147 standard cargoes of LNG in 2016, lower than this year’s estimated production of 170 standard cargoes, the report said.

Badak NGL, a unit of Pertamina, is the operator of the 22.5 mtpa LNG plant located in Bontang, East Kalimantan.
