Report: Gunvor sole runner for PSO’s LNG supply tender

After receiving eight bids for its first LNG supply tender, Pakistan State Oil reportedly decided to disqualify all bidders except for Gunvor.

PSO spokesman told Platts that the company cut several bidders from the running due to not complying with the technical criteria, adding that even with one bid remaining the company can award the tender.

The company initially sought four 143,000 cbm cargoes to be delivered from July to October to Excelerate Energy’s FSRU Exquisite in the Port Qasim.

However, Gunvor has only opted for the delivery of 3 LNG cargoes, excluding the shipment in July.

The tender was issued as the deliveries from Qatar, that were scheduled to start in May, have run late as dredging works need to be carried out around the terminal in order to be able to accommodate Qatargas LNG carriers. Qatargas has already delivered the commissioning cargo and made further four deliveries on a Free-on-Board basis.
