Report: ICG evacuates Mubaraz LNG carrier crew member

Indian Coast Guard reportedly evacuated an Algerian national crew member from the Mubaraz LNG carrier on Saturday. 

According to a report by The Times of India, the vessel was on its way from Das Island in the UAE to Tokyo, Japan.

The report reveals that the 51-year-old Algerian suffered a stroke and was in a critical condition with “no movement and no feeling on the right side of his body“.

The 1996-built 136,357 cbm liquefied natural gas carrier was instructed to head for Kochi where the evacuation was performed.

Coast Guard helicopter transported the member of the crew to the Indian naval air station near Kochi, the INS Garuda, from where he was further taken to a hospital in Kochi for further medical treatment, the report added.
