Rolande opens LNG station in Utrecht

Dutch company Rolande LNG said it has on Tuesday opened a liquefied natural gas truck fueling station in Utrecht.

The Utrecht LNG fueling station is part of the company’s LNG4Haul project partly funded by the European Commission.

The project’s overall objective is to advance LNG road infrastructure and contribute to European renewable energy targets. The project began in March 2014 and is scheduled to be completed in December 2015, however, Rolande LNG faced certain permitting issues and unstable regulatory environment during the implementation.

Besides the five LNG fueling stations to be built across the Netherlands, the company also rolled out 75 LNG-powered trucks deployed at various companies.

The company informed that the station also offers compressed natural gas fueling.
