Rovco to Inspect Wave Hub Subsea Cable System

UK-based company Rovco will carry out subsea cable system survey of the offshore renewable energy test site Wave Hub.

The purpose of the project, scheduled to start July 25, is to inspect the Wave Hub subsea cable system with multibeam echo-sounder bathymetry and ROV visual survey.

The survey works will be conducted up to 100 meter either side of Wave Hub subsea cables.

These include the main subsea cable (from nearshore within Saint Ives Bay) out to and including the hub itself and the four subsea cable tails installed across the Wave Hub renewable energy development area.

The survey vessel MTS Explorer will be restricted in ability to manoeuvre due to deployed survey equipment and other vessels are requested to maintain a clearance of at least 100 meters whilst survey works are in progress.

It is also respectfully requested that deployed fishing gear is kept at least 200m away from Wave Hub cables during the works.

According to Wave Hub, the works are anticipated to take up to ten days subject to favorable weather with a target works completion before the end of August 2017.
