RS Inks Agreement with Azerbaijan State Maritime Academy

A ceremony of signing the Agreement between the Russian Maritime Register of Shipping (RS) and Azerbaijan State Maritime Academy (ASMA) was held on December 6, 2012 in Baku.

On RS behalf the Agreement was signed by Gennady Kolesnikov, RS Chief Operating Officer, on ASMA behalf it was signed by Rasim Djavad Oglu Bashirov, President of the Academy.

According to Gennady Kolesnikov, the conclusion of the above Agreement gives an evidence of mutual interest and intention for development of business relations in scientific and educational activities. He noted: “We shall strengthen cooperation in the field of specialist training, including interchange of scientific and tutorial information, preparing joint teaching aids and scientific publications, organising seminars and refresher courses for the maritime industry specialists, etc.”.

In his turn, Rasim Djavad Oglu Bashirov said: “Conclusion of the Cooperation Agreement with the Russian Maritime Register of Shipping will enable the Academy to increase the level of marine specialist training. Joint efforts of our organisations contribute to profile raising of the maritime profession in Azerbaijan”.

The representatives of the State Maritime Administration of the Republic of Azerbaijan, as well as of the largest industrial enterprises and shipping companies of the Caspian Region, significant representatives of science and education and the leading specialists of maritime industry attended the event.
