Russia and Ukraine Join Forces on Future Shipbuilding Projects

During the 5th session of Ukrainian-Russian interstate commission in Yalta on July 12th 2012, an agreement was signed on cooperation in air search and rescue between the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine and Government of the Russian Federation. At the meeting the parties discussed cooperation in high technologies and reached agreement on the further expansion of cooperation in nuclear energy, aviation, space industry, shipbuilding, transport and agricultural machinery.

In the nearest future our countries should seek to achieve more tangible results in implementation of joint projects in the field of aeronautics, space, nuclear energy and transport infrastructure. An important aspect of this work is mutual benefit and economic pragmatism“, – said the President of Ukraine Viktor Yanukovich.

For its part, Russian President Vladimir Putin emphasized the need to develop bilateral cooperation in high technology industries such as aircraft building, space, telecommunications and transport. “Now I will not speak in detail, but it is clear that the absolute priority for us is not only energy, oil and gas, but although, high-tech manufacturing areas: aeronautics, space, telecommunications, and transportation. Here were have mutual future“, – Putin said.
