OJSC Vympel to Extend Its CAD CAM with Nupas-Cadmatic

Recently Nupas-Cadmatic signed a major contract with Russian design office OJSC Vympel Ltd. Vympel chose to extend their CAD/CAM with Nupas-Cadmatic in order to cope with increased demand for complex designs and tight schedules .

Vympel’s working methods are integrated with the international shipbuilding industry. Vympel works in close cooperation with European and other international partners, has a solid basis, long order book and is positioned in the Russian Federation as an universal design organization – one of the leading offices for development, design and engineering. Vympel acquired the complete suite of applications for basic design, detailed structural design, outfitting design and production information.

OJSC DB Vympel is a in Nizhny Novgorod situated design office specialized in shipbuilding with over 80 years of experience in the design of steel-constructed ships. In the Russian shipbuilding industry, Vympel is a key company in the design and engineering of ships for both civil and military purposes, with important stakeholders such as contractors of Russian ships (the Russian state, Russian and foreign shipping companies, banks, investors, private equities etc.), research teams, shipyards and classification bureaus.

All of Vympel’s designs and projects are regulated by licenses and certificates issued by the Russian State Nuclear Oversight, FSB of Russia, Maritime Register of Shipping and Russian River Register. Since 2013 Vympel has been licensed for the development of military vessels such as combat ships, torpedo and patrol vessels as well as cargo and transportation vessels for the Russian Navy. Vympel has designed and holds the licenses to over 500 vessels ranging from cargo and passenger ships, to offshore constructions, to nuclear and auxiliary naval vessels. Of these projects, over 6500 vessels and constructions have been built by both foreign and domestic shipyards.
