Saipem hires Solstad CSV for Indonesian ops

Solstad Offshore has entered into a contract with Saipem in Indonesia for offshore installation works for the Jangkrik FPU utilizing the construction support vessel (CSV) Normand Installer.

Jangkrik floating production unit (FPU) is a part of Jangkrik complex project, which is operated by Eni Muara Bakau B.V. as contractor to SKK Migas, the Indonesian upstream oil and gas agency.

Eni holds a 55% interest in the project. Other Jangkrik partners are Engie, with 33.3% stake, and PT. Saka Energi Muara Bakau, with the remaining 11.7% stake.

An EPCI contract for the project was awarded to a consortium led by PT Saipem Indonesia, which includes Hyundai Heavy Industries, PT Tripatra Engineers & Constructors and PT Chiyoda International Indonesia.

In addition to the CSV Normand Installer, Solstad said on Friday it will provide project management, procurement and logistics support to the project through its marine projects group in Singapore and Skudeneshavn, Norway.

Execution of the offshore work in Indonesia will start in 2Q 2017 and, including transit, the duration for Normand Installer will be about 100 days.

Solstad noted that the contract value is confidential among the parties.
