Samsung Heavy scores FLNG trio from Shell

Samsung Heavy Industries (SHI) of South Korea has secured an order worth about US$ 4.7 billion for three floating LNG vessels from Royal Dutch Shell.

One of the world’s largest shipbuilders said in a statement issued on Wednesday that the contract will be completed by November 2023.

According to SHI, this order covers only the hull construction fort the three FLNGs.

The entire contract, including the construction of topsides, would be confirmed in the second half of 2016 when front-end engineering and design is completed.
