SCF Melampus heads for NLNG

Sovcomflot’s newly delivered LNG carrier SCF Melampus has set sail for Bonny Island, Nigeria. 

After completing the inspection by Shell, that chartered the vessel, it set course for Nigeria LNG facility to load its first cargo, Sovcomflot informed in a statement.

According to Sovcomflot, the 170,200 cbm SCF Melampus, third in the series of Atlanticmax vessels built at STX Offshore & Shipbuilding, is scheduled to make a call at one of the ports in the South-East Asia.

Two ships in the series, the Velikiy Novgorod and Pskov are already operating under long-term contracts with Gazprom. The fourth ship in the series, the SCF Mitre, will be handed over to Sovcomflot in the second quarter of 2015.

Sovcomflot Group currently has 11 LNG and LPG carriers in its fleet.
