Sea Trucks wins IMR work in West Africa

Sea Trucks Group, a provider offshore support services to the oil & gas industry, has won an IMR contract from an unnamed ‘oil major’ in West Africa.

Sea Trucks said on Thursday that the contract entails inspection, maintenance, and repair (IMR) contract work, beginning in the fourth quarter of 2016.

The company also stated that it would utilize the DP2 multi-purpose support vessel Jascon 55, a construction barge, and a spread of its conventional vessels for the works.

Further details, the name of the client, the exact location, and financial terms of the contract, were left undisclosed.

This is Sea Trucks’ second contract awarded by an unnamed ‘oil major’ in West African waters in quick succession after it won the one for the provision of an accommodation vessel to a deepwater field offshore Nigeria earlier this month.

The Jascon 55 is fitted with two AHC deepwater cranes as well as storage tanks for drilling operations. The vessel is 78 meters in length and 20 meters in breadth. It features a helideck, it can accommodate 150 passengers and has a moonpool of 45.6 square meters.
