SeaBird Exploration said on Sunday that Gunnar Jansen had accepted a position as interim CEO of the company. He replaced Hans Petter Klohs who left his position.

According to the company, Jansen assumed the interim CEO position immediately.

Jansen joined SeaBird as chief commercial and legal officer in August 2018 and has 20 years of experience from the shipping and offshore industries. He has served in senior management positions in several offshore and shipping companies and has strategic, commercial, and operational experience across segments, particularly seismic source, and OBN.

The company added that Jansen’s hands-on experience related to planning and implementing organizational and operational changes critical to the provision of cost-efficient and high-quality services was well suited to achieve these goals.

As for Klohs, he served as a board member since 2015 and later as CEO. The board expressed its thanks on behalf of the company to Klohs for his services to the company and wished him the best of luck in his future endeavors.

It is also worth adding that SeaBird would present its “strategy for a revitalized company” together with the release of its third-quarter numbers on November 7.
