Report: Seatankers Management Offloads Bulker Trio

Cyprus-based Seatankers Management Company, part of Fredriksen Group, has sold three dry bulk carriers, data from VesselsVaue dated January 17 shows.

The vessels in question are 2010-built Supramaxes, Sea Dias and Sea Athena, featuring 57,000 dwt respectively.

The duo was sold in an en bloc transaction to an undisclosed Chinese owner for a total of USD 22.4 million.

The third ship from the batch is a Panamax bulk carrier named Sea Trellis. The 79,500 dwt ship was built in 2012 by Jinhai Intelligent Manufacturing from China.

Greek owner Axis Bulk Carriers Inc is said to have bought the bulker for USD 15.5 million.

Seatankers Management Company, a subsidiary of Fredriksen’s Golden Ocean Group, engages in ship chartering and ship owning operations. The company operates a fleet of owned and leased Panamax and Capesize drybulk vessels.

According to VesselsValue data, the company has 19 ships in its live fleet, including 17 bulkers and two tankers, worth a total of USD 322 million.

The shipowner also has two LR2 newbuildings on order at Korean shipbuilder Daehan. The 129,800 cbm tanker pair is slated for delivery in 2018.
