Goodchild, Italdraghe Introduce New Dredger

MarinaMaster 8000, an innovative cutter suction dredger for marinas designed by Goodchild Marine in the UK and built by Italdraghe SpA in Italy, will be on berth V16 at Seawork.

Designed by Alan Goodchild, the MarinaMaster 8000 is an exceptionally versatile and manoeuvrable 10.6m dredger, built to RINA regulations, and ideal for precision dredging projects in marinas and waterways, where disruption needs to be kept to a minimum. No wires are required and the dredger can operate inside marina finger berths.

MarinaMaster 8000 is self-propelled and can navigate independently on the water between dredging sites. She has twin bow thrusters and can even move sideways. She has twin ‘spud legs’ that can be independently angled to allow her to move or turn while dredging without the use of wire moorings and she has hinged ‘sponsons’ to give stability during dredging, but allowing her to be lorry transportable.

Tier 3 emissions and careful soundproofing ensure that the MarinaMaster 8000 is the latest thinking in specialist dredger design.
