Seminar ‘Best practices for negotiating with pirates’

 

The Clingendael Institute organizes on 8 June 2011 the seminar Engaging Extremists with a special focus on negotiations with pirates. The speakers are Professor I. William Zartman (Johns Hopkins University, Washington, a leading expert on international negotiations and conflict mediation), Michel Mary (project manager CIVIPOL and senior consultant Crisis Management Negotiations GEOS, one of the largest risk management companies in Europe), Alex Kemp (managing director Neil Young Associates (NYA) International, which advises and mediates during crisis situations, including acts of piracy) and Dr. Willem Vogelsang (Leiden University, former project officer cultural affairs for the Dutch MFA in Afghanistan).
