Sentinel’s new ERRV set for Mariner field deployment

Sentinel Marine, a Scottish provider of offshore support vessels, has taken delivery of a new emergency response and rescue vessel.

The 65 meters long, 16.6 meters in wide ERRV vessel has been delivered by China’s Cosco Guandong Shipyard.

The Mariner Sentinel has been custom built for Statoil, which will deploy it to support its operations at the Mariner development in the UK sector of the North Sea.

It will provide emergency cover, oil spill response preparedness and tanker assist capabilities for the Mariner field.

The 5-year ERRV contract Sentinel Marine has with Statoil started in July 2016. Waiting for the Mariner Sentinel delivery, from the summer of 2016 and until the new vessel is ready for operation, Sentinel Marine has provided another ERRV for emergency cover on Mariner.

The Mariner field, located approximately 150 kilometers east of the Shetland Isles, is currently under development, with production start-up planned for 2018.
