Shell hires Edda Frende platform supplier for UK work

Norwegian offshore services provider Østensjø Rederi has won a contract for one of its platform supply vessels with Shell in the UK.

Østensjø said on Monday that Shell UK awarded the deal to the Edda Frende platform supplier.

According to the company, the contract will begin in May 2018 and will run for three years.

“Our first long-term contract with Shell UK started in 1977 and we will with this contract celebrate more than 40 years of uninterrupted contractual relationship with Shell UK,” the company added.

As for the Edda Frende PSV, it was built in 2009 by Astilleros Gondan. It is 85,8 meters long, 19,2 meters wide, has a 910 square-meter deck area, and can accommodate 23 people.
