Hellesoy to Construct Dual Fuel Platform Supply Vessel for Siem Offshore

Siem Offshore of Norway said it has signed a contract with Hellesoy yard in Norway. The contract is for the construction of one dual fuel Platform Supply Vessel, with an option for one additional vessel.

The firm vessel shall commence a four years contract, with four one-year options, with TOTAL E&P NORGE AS. The firm contract shall commence within third quarter 2014.

The vessels will be of VS 4411 DF design with an overall length of 89 meters and a beam of 19 meters and with maximum 5,500 dwt. The ship is designed in collaboration with Wärtsilä Ship Design, and will have a dual fuel system for the use of either LNG or Marine Diesel Oil.

The vessel will be equipped with the most modern solutions for fire-fighting and emergency preparedness, a deck of approx. 970m2 and under deck capacities well suited for the intended operations.
