Singapore - Swire Pacific Offshore Gets New PSV Pacific Hawk

Swire Pacific Offshore Operations (Pte) Ltd welcomed Pacific Hawk to the fleet last month on a long-term bareboat charter. Pacific Hawk is a 4700 DWT, DP2 classified Platform Supply Vessel (PSV) with 1000m2 of deck space. Built by Universal Shipbuilding Corporation to the STX 09 design at the Maizuru Shipyard in Japan, Pacific Hawk will provide clients with the versatile, cost-efficient services combined with SPO’s reputation for safe and reliable operations.

Neil Glenn, Managing Director of Swire Pacific Offshore, said, “We are excited to receive Pacific Hawk as the first of our new H class large PSVs. There is a clear demand for larger more versatile and fuel efficient vessels and she has already sparked a lot of interest from our clients.”

Swire Pacific Offshore owns and operates over 65 offshore support vessels, with over 20 new vessels on order for delivery from yards in 2008-2011. SPO’s fleet is modern, with an average age of 11 years, and a large proportion of the fleet is equipped with dynamic positioning systems (DP 1 or DP 2). The fleet includes over 55 Anchor Handling Tug Supply (AHTS) vessels, Platform Supply Vessels (PSV), Anchor Handling Tugs (AHT), seismic survey vessels, ROV support / dive support vessels and maintenance / accommodation support vessels. Company is fully equipped to support a wide range of offshore activities, including drilling, production, exploration, pipe-lay, subsea construction and FPSO operations.
