Skandi Darwin Begins Contract on Shell Prelude FLNG

DOF Subsea’s Skandi Darwin vessel has started its contract with Shell Australia on Sunday.

DOF Subsea secured the contract for the provision of IMR services and a multi -purpose supply vessel for the Prelude FLNG facility in July 2016.

The contract is for five years with two two-year options.

Mons S. Aase, the CEO of DOF Subsea, added: “This is a cornerstone contract for the group with high strategic importance through strengthened presence in the Subsea IMR projects segment in the Asia Pacific region.”

Prelude FLNG will produce, liquefy, store and transfer LNG at sea. The facility is located 475 kilometers north-north east of Broome, Western Australia.

Prelude is expected to produce 3.6 million tonnes of liquefied natural gas a year, as well as liquefied petroleum gas and condensate.
