SmartBay Ireland to Participate at Ocean Energy Europe Conference

John Breslin (General Manager), Mark Wemyss (Operation and Technical Manager) and Diarmuid O Connor (Strategic Funding and Project Co-ordinator) will be on-hand at the SmartBay stand (stand no. 8) if interested companies would like to discuss services and facilities available at Ireland’s 1/4 scale wave energy test facility.

Funding (up to 45%) is available for developers who wish to trial and deploy prototype devices or component parts at the test site. Independent device validation and assessment reports are provided to users as part of the “turn-key” offering of marine and data support services at the test site.

Dr Sian George, CEO at Ocean Energy Europe said, “Ireland’s considerable wave energy resource makes the SmartBay managed Galway Bay test site of significant strategic importance for the future.”

This annual conference attracts an extensive network of ocean energy professionals and public representatives to produce Europe’s premier ocean event. Ocean Energy Europe has 300 registered attendees and a fully sold out exhibition area featuring 36 companies from across Europe, with less than one week to go. SmartBay will profile the opportunities at the Galway Bay test site to ocean energy professionals and public representatives.
