Solstad said Thursday that the Normand Tonjer (formerly known as REM Vision) had secured a one-year extension with its current client.

This will keep the Normand Tonjer construction support vessel busy until at least November 2020. Namely, the client has an option to extend the contract until September 2021.

Back in August 2018, Fairfield Industries – later bought by Magseis – hired the Normand Tonjer on a one year firm plus two yearly options contract, to be used to support ocean bottom seismic surveys.

The Normand Tonjer, of a VS 495 design, was built in 2010 by Kleven Shipyard in Norway. According to Marine Traffic and Vessels Value, the Normand Tonjer is currently in Qatar, working at the Al Shaheen offshore oil field.

For Solstad, this marks the second contract extension for a CSV this week, after offshore installation contractor DeepOcean exercised its option to extend the contract for the CSV Normand Jarstein for a minimum period of 200 days in 2020.

Also, Solstad on Wednesday summoned a bondholders’ meeting to request a further said extension on the deferral and suspension of payments and interest under SOFF’s bond issue with ISIN NO 0010713548 which expires on December 20th, 2019. Solstad will seek an extension of the deferral and suspension until March 31st, 2020 to match the suspension with the suspension already agreed with the parties to SOFF’s existing financing arrangements, as announced in the stock exchange notice dated October 31st, 2019.

The bondholder meeting will be held on December 18th.
