Solstad Offshore said on Thursday that the contract was awarded by Shell’s Brazilian arm – Shell Brasil Ltda – for the PSV Normand Starling.

According to the shipowner, the Normand Starling will support Shell’s activities in waters offshore Brazil.

The awarded contract is firm for two years, until April 2023, and will start in direct continuation of the current contract Normand Starling has with Shell Brazil Ltda.

Namely, Solstad Offshore was awarded a two-year contract for the Normand Starling with Shell Brasil back in late March 2019.

The vessel, formerly known as the Far Starling, began its contract with Shell in the second quarter of 2019. The previous contract for the vessel also had a firm duration of two years.

As for the Normand Starling, it is a platform supply vessel built in 2013 by Vard Vung Tau in Vietnam back in 2013. It is currently sailing under the flag of Brazil. Its gross tonnage is 3,527 tons.
