Spain: Astilleros Gondan Shipyard to Build PSV of UT776 WP Design for Simon Mokster

On June 22 Simon Møkster signed a contract with Astilleros Gondan Shipyard in Spain for the building of the advanced Platform Supply Vessel of UT776 WP design.

This will be the second vessel for Astilleros Gondan shipyard to construct for Møkster. Gondan has previously delivered “Stril Merkur”, a multi field support vessel on schedule and to good quality. The vessel will be delivered during the summer of 2014 and will be built with NOFO 2009, Ice-1C, De-Ice and Rescue class.

Also the vessel will be built according to Simon Møkster philosophy of having an environmentally friendly fleet. Much effort has been put into fuel efficiency and emissions reductions. In line with Statoil requirements, the vessel will have a large deck area (1000m2), large under-deck capacity and excellent station keeping capabilities.

The vessel will be designed and equipped for following duties:

• Carrying and unloading to rigs and production platforms, pipe laying barges etc.:
• Deck cargo
• Pipes on deck
• Liquid cargo(maximum 800 m 3 of hazardous and noxious liquid like brine, mud etc.)
• Cement / Barite
• Oil recovery according to NOFO 2009
• Rescue operations (NMD 150)
