Spotted: Oasis Cruise Ship Trio Meets in Florida

In today’s spotted we bring you an image of the three Oasis-class ships, owned by Miami-based cruise company Royal Caribbean International (RCI), that came together off Florida to celebrate the US arrival of the Harmony of the Seas on November 4, 2016.

The three cruise ships, the Oasis of the Seas, the Allure of the Seas and the new Harmony of the Seas, have met at sea “for the first and possibly only time”, RCI said.

The three vessels celebrated the arrival of the Harmony of the Seas on the eve of the ship’s debut in its new permanent homeport of Port Everglades in Fort Lauderdale, Florida.

Being the newest and youngest of the three ships, the Harmony of the Seas joined the company’s fleet in May 2016.

With 16 decks above the ocean and a capacity of 5,479 passengers, the Harmony of the Seas officially claimed the title of the world’s largest cruise ship. The 226,000 gross ton ship features a length of 1,187 feet and has a maximum cruising speed of 23 knots.

Having started in June, the Harmony of the Seas sailed the Western Mediterranean from Barcelona, Spain, during its inaugural season.

From Port Everglades, the ship is planned to sail the Caribbean.
