Submarine Cable Between Estonia and Finland Back in Service

After the announcement was made on February 01 revealing the break-down of the submarine cable linking Estonia and Finland, the Elering Company has proclaimed that the EstLink is back in service.

The cause of the break-down was of a technical nature originating in the Harku converter station that was fixed by ABB, but then more issues with the cable occurred in the Finnish side in Espoo.

The EstLink was out of service for several days and that caused the electricity price increase.

Total capacity of the cable on the market for distribution of electricity and the cable transmission system is operated by Estonian and Finnish companies.
