Subsea 7 Extends Normand Seven Contract

Subsea 7 has declared their option to extend the contract for the construction vessel (CSV) “Normand Seven” with 1 year from September 2015.

This is the first of a total of five yearly options. The extension is done under present terms and conditions, the company said in a press release.

The Normand Seven is a construction/flexlay (horizontal) vessel fitted with an advanced flexible pipelay system capable of operating in water depths of up to 2,000m with a top tension capacity of 300t.

The Normand Seven has an overall length of 130 metres. Following the vessel completion in July 2007 in Norway, the Normand Seven went to A&P Tyne Ltd shipyard at Hebburn on the south side of the River Tyne, to be fitted with the new pipelay deck and associated equipment.

The Vessel is arranged with diesel electric machinery with six diesel engines divided between two separate engine rooms. The main thrusters and side thrusters configuration is arranged for station keeping of the vessel under rough weather conditions.
